So about a month ago, I was stuck to my couch for about 2-3 days with a cough, fever, chills, and congestion. I took some OTC meds and in a few days felt alot better. About a week later, I fell ill again, but this time it was a fever, horrible sore throat (i could barely swallow), and nasal congestion, but no stuffy or runny nose. I went to a clinic ( i dont have health insurance) and they gave me 8 days of amoxicilin. I don’t recall her telling me what I had exactly, i was so loopy from lack of sleep, but I finished the course of antibiotics and felt 100% better. Now, it’s about 4 days since the last dose of amoxil, and my cough is back and louder than ever. I don’t sleep to well at night because my nose is constantly running and my cough wakes me up (and my poor fiance lol).
I am a smoker, or was, until i started getting sick. Since the first time i was sick, i’ve been smoking next to nothing if nothing at all. I looked at it as an opportunity to quit, but it’s still hard.
I’m also taking a multi-vitamin for women and 500mg of vitamin C every day.
I’m just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience, if i should go back to the clinic, if it’s just this cold winter weather…. i’m desperate!
