Who Else Needs To Know: Is Bupropion Gluten Free?

Category: ZybanPrescription Search @ 11:13 pm

Celieac disease, or an inability to digest the protein gluten, found in grain food products, even wheat flour, is a growing problem that affects millions of Americans and others worldwide. As you can see, people with this condition are not free to eat whatever they want.

Before you put anything into your mouth, you need to ask the question, “Is this gluten free?” Beer has gluten. Pastas have gluten (yes, that includes pizza). Gravy has gluten. Pet food even has gluten (for the really desperate).

But did you know that medications, such as bupropion, can also contain gluten? If you are prescribed the antidepressant you have to ask, “Is bubropion gluten free?”

Is bupropion gluten free? Yes! One of the reasons there are so many antidepressants on the market is that people aren’t alike. The millions of Celiacs around the world and their purchasing power is why gluten is not in bubropion.

The brand names of the generic bupropion includes Wellbutrin, Budaprion and Zyban. Always know the active generic name of the ingredient for any medicine you take. So, if you have been thinking, “Is my Zyban gluten free?” It is the same as “Is bupropion gluten free?”

Why Take Bupropion

It’s not for everyone, even though it passes the question “Is bupropion gluten free?” This powerful antidepressant came out in 1986 and reacts on people differently. Some people get wired. Some people turn into zombies. Others thrive on it. Depression is a life threatening illness that needs immediate medical attention.

Depression is also a symptom of Celiac disease. Your depression may or may not be a direct result of your Celiac Disease. So your doctor will most likely have you take medications for depression, for any malnutrition, and have your diet changed.

If you dislike medication or suffer from its side effects than there are also many natural alternatives to alleviating depression, such as a healthy, organic diet, proper exercise, and meditation. The manager of your local health food store should be able to help you.

In modern times, bupropion is not just used for depression. It is also used for Attention deficit/ hyperactive disorder in children, as well as counteracting some of the harsher side effects other prescription medications.

It is also well-known as an anti-seizure medication that can sometimes be prescribed for quiting smoking and for those with sexual problems.

Read the instructions carefully. Tell your doctor any and all of the medications, vitamins and herbal supplements you take to avoid incredibly bad interactions with bupropion. And never take it with beer, even gluten-free beer.

Accolate Side Effects – it Pays to Know Before you Pop the Pill

Category: LipitorPrescription Search @ 10:55 pm

Accolate is a popular brand name for the generic family of drugs known as Zafirlukast. It is commonly used for the prevention and treatment of chronic asthma. However, Accolate is not intended to treat acute attacks. Other uses of Accolate include using it to minimize breathing problems caused by exercising or sensitivity to aspirin.

As with most prescribed drugs, Accolate too has a few side effects that one should know about before starting on a course. Accolate is a prescription drug and it is in one’s best interest to follow the doctor’s instructions and the prescribed dosage as closely as possible. Accolate is taken as directed, usually twice daily, one hour before or two hours after a meal on a regular basis. It is important to bear in mind that while the drug should continue to be taken during an asthma attack, it will not stop the attack. It is meant to lessen the number and severity of attacks.

Accolate is generally regarded as a safe drug. Zafirlukast is widely prescribed by doctors worldwide to people with asthma and related breathing troubles. However, Accolate side effects are not entirely absent. Of all the observed Accolate side effects, headache, nausea and diarrhea are the most frequent ones. If these continue to persist, or get bothersome, one is advised to consult one’s doctor promptly.

In some rare cases, serious liver diseases may occur. If you notice any side effects such as persistent nausea, stomach pain, dark-colored urine, fatigue, yellowing eyes or skin, seek immediate medical attention. These Accolate side effects are extremely rare but very serious. If you experience any of the side effects mentioned above, use of this drug may need to be stopped. If treatment is stopped due to those effects, one should never take this drug again. Women carry a larger risk of getting liver problems from Accolate. Other rare but potentially dangerous Accolate side effects that need prompt medical attention are sore throat, bleeding, bruising, muscle aches and unusual weight loss.

Allergic reaction to Accolate is highly unlikely. However, should one develop an allergic reaction to the drug, medical attention should be sought without delay. Symptoms of an allergic reaction typically include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness and trouble in breathing.

It is impossible to enlist all the possible Accolate side effects within the brief scope of this article. One is, therefore, well-advised to contact one’s doctor or pharmacist as soon as any irregularity is noticed in one’s health after starting on a course of Zafirlukast.

Accolate comes with a few warnings. The more important ones are that it should not be administered to children less than 12 years of age or to anybody with a known sensitivity or allergy to any ingredient, with a liver disease or with moderately decreased kidney function.

Make tremendous savings on your purchase of Accolate at such premium Canadian online pharmacies as BuyLowDrugs.com. All it takes is just a few clicks of your mouse to buy Accolate online at special low international prices. The site is also a storehouse of tons of information on Accolate including dosage, Accolate ingredients, Accolate side effects and more.

Generic Acomplia (rimonabant) ? Know the Facts

Category: AcompliaPrescription Search @ 4:50 pm

Generic Acomplia or Rimonabant is an anorectic anti obesity drug. It is a CB1 cannabinoid receptor antagonist. Rimonabant has been found to stop food craving enough to help people lose weight, and could also help curb other unhealthy urges, such as smoking. This is a non-control weight loss solution that in one study, helped people who were overweight drop an average of 20 pounds, and was found to be very useful for patients who suffer from obesity.

How does Rimonabant work?

• Rimonabant is used complementary to diet and exercise to treat obese or overweight patients who suffer from Type 2 diabetes and abnormal levels of fat in the blood

• Rimonabant can also prevent the risk of cardiovascular disease

• Patients with large waist circumference (102 cm in men and 88 cm in women) will mostly benefit from taking the drug.

What is Rimonabant used for?

Clinical trials have shown that heavy smokers, after being on a regular supplement of Rimonabant, have stopped smoking altogether. Smokers usually do not stop smoking for fear of weight-gain, which can be highly discouraging. However since Rimonabant works on the overeating and smoking factors simultaneously such problems wouldn’t arise.

Does Rimonabant also aid smoking cessation?

• Rimonabant acts by selectively blocking CB1 receptors found in the brain and in peripheral organs important in glucose and lipid (or fat) metabolism, including adipose tissue, the liver, gastrointestinal tract and muscle1

• Rimonabant switches off the same brain circuits that make people hungry when they smoke cannabis

• CB1 receptor blockade with Rimonabant acts to decrease the over activity of the endocannabinoid system (EC system) 2, 3. The EC system is a recently characterized physiological system that includes receptors such as the CB1 receptor and it has been shown to play an important role in regulating body weight and in controlling energy balance, as well as glucose and lipid (or fat) metabolism.
