My fiance was on Lipitor for a few months and developed the above problems while taking the drug so he stopped. It has been over a year since, and the brown color is still covering his shins, he still has swelling (this is similar to the water retention women get while pregnant – you can push on a spot and it stays indented), and today he told me that the pain is becoming intolerable. The doctor that prescribed the Lipitor in the first place dismissed and still dismisses my fiance’s complaints, but there is no other doctor in our small town or the surrounding towns that he can go to (insurance). I am just curious to see if anyone had heard of these problems and what was done to try to resolve them.
He did contact his doctor about the pain and discoloration, but they just dimissed his claims. The side effects are still there and he hasn’t taken a pill in about a year, and the doctor doesn’t seem to care that he is still experiencing these symptoms.
