Thinking about trying it as I have taken all the prescription ppi’s (Prilosec, Prevacid, etc.) Just not sure how to do it- do I just take that and stop the PPI’s or do I take it along with the PPI’s?? I would ask my GI doc but he is going to say not to take a herbal medicine.

i having angina pains for about 15 yrs, altho i live a relatively normal life, i am 34 yrs old, and is recieving treatment for hypertension. Towards the end of last yr, i drank/smoked heavily and woke and started having problem sleeping on my left side, if i try to, i have a feeling that my heart is filling up with blood and cannot pump them out effectively, i have to lie on my back to sleep or sit up.i also feel some discomfort or slight pain in my chest when i try to check my blood pressure. My doctor recommended an ECG, heart Echo and x-ray, the ecg was normal as well as the xray, but the cardiac echo test showed that i have enlarged left ventricle and thick endo…, but my doctor doesn’t says he doesn’t think the enlarged left venticle is responsible for my not been able to sleep on my left side, he told me take my bp drugs more often (captopril, norvasc, delayed action nitrates) and some NAID. He also recommended that i take GTN or some nitrates to relieve me of the pain when its very intense, i tried it and i got some relief last night, I want to know whats really wrong with me, is my condition getting worse, will the pain go away eventually or is it the beginning of the end for me…
i have stopped drining and smoking since this yr but my gf upset me some days ago and i went out and drank and smoked heavily, i woke up in the middle of the night with my heart racing rapidly, i felt as if i will faint, i prayed to God to save me cos i knew something terrible might happen to me, God directed me to take some atenolol which i did and immediately my heart stopped racing…what is really happening to me

I had taken a three day prescription of Bactrim to cure a UTI infection the first few days of my cycle, and then had sex a few days later. I am on the pill, and did not use a second form of protection. I was told that the effectiveness of Bactrim should not interfere, and if so would be really rare, but any antibiotic could effect the pill I know. 3-5 days after having sex, and for the last 5 days, I have felt very tired, nausea, and my breasts are sore, and I have stomach aches on and off. I am not sure if I am worrying to much, and stress and hormones are playing a huge role. Or, is it possible that these would be signs of pregnancy still 8-10 days away from my period? Any thoughts, would be appreciated.

I take Prevacid for acid reflux at night, and I am having an endoscopy tomorrow. The written instructions say not to eat eight hours before the procedure, and it says it’s okay to take heart medicine. But there is nothing written whether it is okay to take stomach medicine more than eight hours before the procedure. (It would be about eleven hours before the procedure now) I started searching online, and one site says you should not take any antacids the day of the test because it could interfere with the reading – but I don’t know if I can take it the night before. Since I won’t be allowed to drink water in a few hours, I won’t be able to do anything for the heartburn then, so I wanted to take the medicine now, but not if it will interfere with my test later on. I got conflicting advice from my family, so I’m not sure what to do.

I read a similar question, as I made sure to look this up before posting this question. However, I was hoping for a definitive response to this.
I’m about to turn 31 and I noticed that my hair is starting to thin in the back of my head (the crown area). I remember my ex-girlfriend telling me she “heard” that if the male was taking Propecia and he impregnates the girl, the baby will have birth-defects. Is this true? Is it documented? I’d obviously not flirt with the chance of having a child with birth defects, so I’ll hold off on taking it. But I was also wondering if there were any alternatives to Propecia or Rogaine that’s harmless for conception and is proven to work. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks to the two responses I’ve received so far. I guess, specifically, I want to know if the Propecia is carried in the sperm. And if you ejaculate in the female, will the Propecia affect the sperm so that when it combines with the egg, the baby has the effects of the Propecia — which, in turn, results into a birth defect? I wish I could explain in better. Basically, I don’t want to be taking Propecia if having a kid with a girl will result in the child having a birth defect based on the Propecia.
